COLOMBO (News 1st): Nepal on Tuesday (Feb. 16) strongly condemned the recent statement made by Chief Minister (CM) of the Indian State of Tripura, in which he quoted Indian Home Minister Amit Shah as saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would soon form its government in Nepal and Sri Lanka, reported foreign media.
The Government of Nepal has conveyed its formal objection to the remarks by India's ruling party leader, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Nepal has confirmed according to foreign media.
However, according to 'The Hindu Newspaper', India's Ministry of External Affiars is yet to respond to the objection by Nepal's Minister for Foreign Affairs.
On Saturday (Feb. 13), the Chief Minister of India's Tripura state said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is planning to expand its party to neighboring countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka.
