Colombo University marks century of Arts and Science Faculty

COLOMBO (News1st): The University of Colombo marked a century since the commencement of the Faculty of Arts and Science on Thursday. The library of the university that was declared open in 1921 also celebrated a century since its establishment. A special event was organized by the Colombo University to mark the historic occasion under the patronage of the university's Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor Chandrika Wijeyaratne. Deans of various faculties, professors, and senior officials at the university were among the dignitaries present. Education secretary Prof. Kapila Pepera and the chairman of the University Grants Commission Professor Sampath Amaratunge also attended the event. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also extended their wishes on the historic occasion.
