08 COVID FATALITIES ON SUNDAY; COUNTRY TOTAL RISES TO 264

Colombo (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services confirmed eight (08) deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 264. January 13 (01) 01. The deceased is a 63 year old female from Kolonnawa. She died on 13.01.2021 while undergoing treatments at General Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia. January 14 (01) 02. The deceased is a 75 year old male from Borella. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid19 virus and transferred from a private Hospital in Colombo to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where he died on 14.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as high blood pressure and Covid pneumonia. January 15 (01) 03. The deceased is a 27 year old male from Udupussellawa. He was transferred from BaseHospital Udupussellawa to District General Hospital Nuwara Eliya where he died on 15.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 infection and Lung Infection. January 16 (02) 04. The deceased is an 87 year old male from Kegalle. He died on 16.01.2021 while undergoing treatments at Homagama Base Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as a heart disease and acute Bronchitis due to Covid-19 virus infection. 05. The deceased is a 72 year old male from Dehiwala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to Base Hospital Homagama where he died on 16.01.2021. The cause of death is Covid pneumonia and a heart disease. January 17 (03) 06. The deceased is a 66 year old male from Polonnaruwa. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from Welikanda Base Hospital to IDH Hospital where he died on 17.01.2021. The Cause of death is mentioned as acute liver infection, blood poisoning and Covid 19 infection. 07. The deceased is an 83 year old male from Colombo 08. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to IDH Hospital where he died on 17.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as a blood poisoning complications and multiple organ disorder with Covid pneumonia. 08. The deceased is a 75 year old male from Ududumbara. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from District Hospital Awissawella to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where he died on 17.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as acute respiratory tract infection, Covid pneumonia and a heart disease.
