02 ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL CASH & GOLD POSSESSION

Colombo (News 1st); The Criminal Investigations Department arrested two men in Grandpass on Tuesday (12) night for the possession of Rs. 12.6 Million in cash and 40 sovereigns of gold.

The arrest was made based on the tip-off and the suspects were detained on the provisions of the Poisons, Opium and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.

One of the suspects was identified as a close associate of a notorious drug dealer known as Siddeek, who was nabbed by the Police Narcotic Bureau five years ago.
