No damage to records room or case files from fire - Police

Colombo (News 1st); The fire reported at the Supreme Court Complex in Colombo was completely contained, said the Colombo Fire Brigade.

09 Fire Trucks were deployed to contain the fire, which was reported on Tuesday (15) evening.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana speaking to News 1st said the fire was reported from waste storage located in the basement of the Supreme Court Complex.

Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, and the Justice Minister is located in the complex.

The Deputy Police Chief said the Colombo Fire Brigade and the Sri Lanka Air Force worked together to contain the fire and no harm was caused to the records room of case files placed at the Supreme Court.

Only waste material was destroyed by the fire, he said.
