Colombo (News 1st); The COVID-19 death toll in Sri Lanka rose to 34 with 04 new deaths reported on Saturday (07) evening, said the Department of Government Information.
The deaths reported are as follows:
01. 42 year old female from Maligawatte, Colombo 10 who was suffering from Chronic Heart Disease and had passed away at her residence. Cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 complications resulting in cardiac arrest.
02. 69 year old female from Maligawatte, Colombo 10 who was suffering from multiple chronic diseases and passed away after she was admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo due to her worsening condition. Cause of death was ruled as COVID-19 complications resulting in pneumonia.
03. 67 year old male from Wellampitiya who was suffering from multiple chronic diseases and passed away at his residence after experiencing high fever for several days. Cause of death was led as COVID-19 complications resulting in pneumonia.
04. 88 year old female from Ganuwulla ( Close Contact of a COVID-19 patient from the Munuwangoda cluster) was admitted to the Pallegama Hospital after she was detected as a COVID-19 patient during quarantine. Due to her worsening condition she was transferred to the Infectious Disease Hospital (Angoda Fever Hospital) for treatment and passed away thereafter. Cause of Death was led as COVID-19 complications resulting in pneumonia and blood infection.
