Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lankan health authorities have given the green-light to go ahead with the Lanka Premier League, said Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa on Thursday (05).
In a tweet, he said the Ministry of Health and the COVID Task Force had responded positively to Sri Lanka Cricket, with regard to LPL 2020.
The Sports Minister thanked the President and the Prime Minister with regard to the matter adding the move is indicatory of the government's commitment to adapt to 'New Normal' & return the country to normalcy whilst adhering to the Ministry of Health guidelines.
LPL Tournament Director Ravin Wickramaratne speaking to News 1st said the Lanka Premier League will be planned with 07 Day & 14 Days quarantine process.
He said Lanka Premier League would most likely kick-off on the 27th of November and will feature 05 teams comprising local and international players.
