Quarantine Curfew for the entire Western Province from 29th Oct.

Colombo (News 1st); A quarantine curfew will come into effect from midnight on the 29th of October to 05:00 AM on Monday, 02nd of November said the Department of Government Information quoting the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

It added the quarantine curfew will be lifted at 05:00 AM on Monday 02nd November ONLY for areas which are not placed under quarantine curfew at present.

The quarantine curfew which is already in effect will continue until further notice, for the areas in question after 05:00 AM on Monday 02nd November.

The time-table to re-open pharmacies and grocery stores as announced on Tuesday (27) will be in effect on Thursday (29) and will resume again after the 02nd of November.

Head of the NOCPC Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Tuesday (27) said grocery stores and pharmacies will be allowed to operate on Mondays and Thursdays in the Gampaha and Kalutara districts.

The pharmacies and grocery stores will be allowed to operate on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Colombo and Kurunegala districts.

Grocery stores and pharmacies have been permitted to function from 08.00 am to 10.00 pm during the assigned period, he added.
