COLOMBO (News 1st): The Samagi Jana Balavegaya today (Sept. 23) filed a special determination petition at the Supreme Court challenging the bill titled “Twentieth Amendment to the Constitution.”
The petition was filed by General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya - Ranjith Madummabandara.
The petition seeks a determination stating certain articles of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution are in violation of the Constitution of Sri Lanka.
It further states a determination be made in order to pass the bill a two-thirds majority and a referendum are required.
