Gunman working for 'Angoda Lokka' shot dead by police

Colombo (News 1st); A gunman working for 'Angoda Lokka' identified as Asitha Hemathilake alias 'Solta' was killed in police fire when he attempted to hurl a grenade at police officers in Welivita, Mulleriyawa on Tuesday (11) night.
Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon speaking to News 1st said 'Solta' was a wanted suspect for multiple homicides in Sri Lanka, adding he is one of several key gunmen working for underworld don 'Angoda Lokka'.
"He was the gunman who shot dead a woman inside a beauty salon in 2017 in Kottawa," said the Senior Police Officer.
According to local media reports, earlier that year (2017), underworld figure, Tanil Bandara, was killed at the same beauty salon.
