Mahinda Rajapaksa to be sworn in as new Prime Minister on Sunday

Colombo (News 1st); Mahinda Rajapaksa will be sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on Sunday the 09th of August at 08:30 AM at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya.

Further, in a statement, Mahinda Rajapaksa said his objective is to convert the victory achieved at the 2020 Parliamentary Election to a resounding victory.

He further stated the success achieved at the election sends a message to the world, the National Policy Framework Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour presented by the President can be implemented across the country.

It further stated a resounding victory arises from challenges.

Mahinda Rajapaksa also went on to note the war victory, containing COVID-19 as well as conducting a successful election show the world, the might of the country, and her people.

He stressed the 2020 Parliamentary Election result is one that will rebuild the confidence in the nation.
