15 arrested for smuggling drugs into Kalutara Prison

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police arrested 15 people for attempting to throw heroin, tobacco and mobile devices into the Kalutara Prison, Police Media Division said. "Two suspects were initially arrested while throwing drugs over the wall, into the Kalutara Prison. Two mobile phones, phone chargers, over 2mg of Heroin and tobacco were discovered inside the two parcels the duo threw over the wall of the Kalutara Prison," the Police Media Division said in a statement on Wednesday (July 15). Following interrogation of the two suspects, another 13 in connection with smuggling Heroin into the Kalutara Prison, were arrested from Kalutara-North, with 13.73g of Heroin in their possession. The suspects will be produced at the Kalutara Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
