COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka and its people must always be vigilant of intervention due to its strategic location, a chief incumbent of a temple said on Saturday. "Sri Lanka has faced nearly 17 invasions so far, and we have won all of them," Ven. Prof. Medegoda Abayatissa Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Sunethradevi Pirivena in Pepiliyana said. He added that other nations have established control over Sri Lanka through agreements, and not by waging war against the South Asian island. "Even the British established their control through the signing of an agreement," Ven. Prof. Medegoda Abayatissa Thero recalled.
