Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lankan Cricketer Upul Tharanga appeared at the Special Investigation Unit on Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports to provide a statement with regard to the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final match-fixing claims made by Ex-Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
Yesterday the Special Investigation Unit on Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports recorded a statement from Former Chief of Selectors Aravinda De Silva for almost 06 hours on the same matter.
Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage on the 18th of June said the 2011 Cricket World Cup Final between India & Sri Lanka was fixed.
The Former Minister said he made the claim with absolute responsibility.
