Petition filed seeking Karuna Amman's arrest

Colombo (News 1st); Kaduwela Urban Council member Boseth Kalahepathirana filed a Fundamental Rights application with the Supreme Court today seeking the immediate arrest of Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan alias 'Karuna Amman' and to institute legal action against the one time LTTE commander of the East.
The application was filed against a statement made by Karuna Amman on Friday, the 19th of June, claiming he killed 2000 to 3000 Sri Lankan soldiers in one night at Elephant Pass when in the LTTE.
The petitioner requests the Supreme Court to institute legal action against Karuna Amman as the voluntary statement made by the Ex-Deputy Minister can be termed as admitting to the killings.
The Acting Inspector General of Police, the Attorney General, and Karuna Amman were named as respondents in the case.
