NEC meeting on Thursday for crucial talks

COLOMBO(News 1st): The National Elections' Commission will meet this morning. The meeting is set to discuss matters pertaining to the upcoming General elections with special attention to the proposal to extend voting hours. Notices for 20 electoral districts have also been printed as per the Government Printer with the process for the Colombo and Gampaha district yet to be completed. A total of 6 Million such notices are to be printed according to Government Printer, Ganga Kalpani Liyanage who said when completed all notices will be handed over to the NEC. Ballot papers in 15 districts have also been printed. The Government Printer stated the postal voting ballot papers for Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala districts are to be handed over to the National Elections Commission today, with the ballot papers for the Kandy and Trincomalee districts to be handed in the day after tomorrow.
