The priority lane rule in the Western province will be strictly enforced once again, starting today.
This is under the theme, "Let's start a new - Create discipline on the road."
An awareness program for drivers will be conducted by police officers till the 22nd of June, Senior Superintendent of Police in-charge of the Motor Traffic Division, Indika Hapugoda said.
Bus priority lane rules will come into effect from 6.00 am to 9.00 am for vehicles entering Colombo and from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm for vehicles leaving the city.
The bus priority lane across Olcott Mawatha, Regal, Kumaran Ratnam Road, Piththala junction, Public Library Roundabout, until Kollupitiya will be in effect from today.
Also, the bus priority lane will be in effect from Maliban Junction in Ratmalana to the Moratuwa Cross Junction.
From Cross Junction in Moratuwa to Pettah, the priority lane rule will be in effect from 6 am to 9 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm.
