The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 915, after 22 new cases were confirmed late last night.
Thereby, a total of 26 COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday.
All 26 people who tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, were Navy personnel, Speaking to News 1st this morning, Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said.
Commenting on the quarantine figures in the country, the Army Commander further said, 597 are expected to leave quarantine facilities today following completion of the mandatory quarantine period.
He further noted, over 3,000 people are currently quarantined at 37 facilities operated by the Tri-Forces.
So far 382 have been recovered.
COVID-19 claimed the lives of 9 people in the country.
