COLOMBO (News 1st): The Air Quality of Colombo has improved and is at "Good Level".
As of the latest update at 4:00 am on Saturday (25th April), the air quality of Colombo reached 17, according to the "Colombo US Embassy Air Pollution: Real-time Air Quality Index or the AQI",
The Air Quality Index is measured by PM 2.5 or fine particulate matter in the level of air pollution.
According to the AQI grading, the "Good Level" that ranges between 0-50, symbolized by color code Green, means the quality of air poses no risk of health implications and everyone can continue their outdoor activities with little or no impact from air pollution.
Because of the lockdown type curfew which is in effect since the 20th of March, the nature has seen several improvements including animals gaining more freedom and re-growth of plants.
For instance, the Galle Face Green has finally become green, with grass sprouting and Nuwara Eliya has become more scenic with the blossoming of flowers.
