Peliyagoda Fish Market to resume operations tomorrow

COLOMBO (News1st): The Peliyagoda fish market which suspended operations this week will resume activities on Saturday after 530 persons tested negative for COVID-19, a traders association said. The market had halted operations this week after a fishmonger from Piliyandala tested positive for the virus. "If there is anyone, who is not willing to adhere to the health guidelines specified by health authorities, we urge them to not to come to the market," Jayasiri Wickramaarachchi, President of the Peliyagoda Fish Market Traders Association said. Meanwhile, Public Health Inspector of the Peliyagoda Municipal Council, Meryl Perera said all who were tested negative should, however, remain cautious. "We must practice social distancing to ensure we are all safe," Perera said. "Wearing a face mask is also very important."
