COLOMBO (News1st): A group of physicians in the country have pointed out that the "lockdown" strategy in the country is not a permanent solution and that it is only effective in flattening the curve. The College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka, in a statement, highlighted that simultaneous case detection, contact tracing and quarantine should also be employed to curb the spread of the virus. The medical body called for the implementation of the World Health Organizations “Test Test Test” strategy to increase the number of tests in a bid to prevent the spread of the disease. "Well-coordinated efforts of the public health experts from both health department and armed forces should be strengthened for improving the process at the designated quarantine center" the statement read. It added that effective coordination at both the grassroots and national levels is the key to success in responding to the outbreak of the virus.
