COLOMBO (News1st): The curfew imposed in the Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Kilinochchi, and Jaffna Districts has been extended until 6 am on March 24.
Issuing a statement, the President's Media Division stated that the curfew which will be lifted at 6 am will be re-imposed at 2 pm on the same day.
Further, the residents of these districts would also be barred from leaving their respective areas.
The ban had been imposed after a foreign pastor who attended a Church service in the Northern region this month was tested positive for COVID - 19.
Accordingly, this decision had been made to prevent the residents of these areas from being affected by the virus, the President's Media Division said.
The government requested the public to extend their support in this regard.
