Covid 19 : Passengers arriving from Iran, Italy & South Korea to be quarantined

Colombo (News 1st) -  Senior Epidemiologist at the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health Dr. Sudath Samaraweera says that all passengers from Iran, Italy & South Korea will be quarantined at the Batticaloa Campus and Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre from today, owing to the new Coronavirus outbreak. Officials say the number of people to have died from the coronavirus in Italy has shot up by 133 in a day to 366. According to Italy's Civil Protection agency, the total number of infections lept 25% to 7,375 from 5,883. The latest figures mean Italy now has the highest number of confirmed infections outside China, where the outbreak originated in December. It has overtaken South Korea, where the total number of cases is 7,313.
