Government gazettes minimum royalties payable to artists

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Government gazetted minimum royalties payable to musicians, singers or lyricists by amending the Intellectual Property Act, No. 36 of 2003. According to the amendment, minimum royalties payable to a musician, singer or lyricist each time a song or musical work is aired by a radio or TV station prescribed by gazette notification is Rs.20/- per airing on the radio and Rs.100/- per airing on TV.
