UNP working committee to convene tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The UNP Working committee is due to convene tomorrow (February 10). The General Secretary of the party, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam says that the meeting will take place at 4:00 pm at the Sirikotha party headquarters under the leadership of party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. The meeting will focus on the future functions of the new alliance that is due to be created under the United National Party. Thereby, the appointment of Ranjith Maddumabandara as the General Secretary of the new alliance is due to be approved at the working committee meeting. Further, a couple of members who were suspended from committee membership are due to be reappointed to the committee. The last working committee meeting was held on the 30th of last month. Although it was discussed to reconvene on February 6th, the meeting was later cancelled.
