52 Sri Lankan domestic workers repatriated

Colombo (News 1st) - 52 Sri Lankan domestic workers who were employed in Kuwait returned to the island this morning. They arrived in the Island, onboard a SriLankan Airlines flight, at 6 this morning. They had been serving in Kuwait and had faced many issues, including physical torture. Our correspondent reported that the group were sent to the welfare unit of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau and were provided with basic medical care.
