President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visits Kandy

COLOMBO(News 1st) - President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited Kandy today (January 11) and paid homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Subsequently, the President visited the Malwatte Viharaya and called on the Chief prelate of the Malwatte Chapter of the Siam Sect, Most Venerable Thibbatuwave Sri Sumangala Thero and obtained his blessings. Thereafter President Rajapaksa called on the Chief Incumbent of the Malwatte Chapter, Ven. Niyangagoda Vijithasiri Thero. President Gotabaya Rajapaksa then called on the Chief Prelate of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Sect, Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero at the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya. The Maha Sangarathna of the Asgiriya Chapter and the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter Ven. Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero was also present. Thereafter, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited the Menikhinna Vidyasagara temple and called on the Chief Prelate of the Ramanya Sect Most. Ven Napana Pemasiri Thero and obtained his blessings. Then the president called on the Parivanadipathi of the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya Ven. Narampanawe Ananda Thero and obtained his blessings. Finally, the President visited the Gatambe Rajopavanaramaya. The President called on the Rajepanaramadipathi Ven. Kappetiyagoda Siri-Vimala Thero and obtained his blessings.
