GMOA provides a statement against Rajitha Senaratne

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Government Medical Officers Association today (December 30) provided a statement to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption with regard to an investigation on alleged fraud and corruption said to have taken place at the Health Ministry during Rajitha Senaratne's tenure as the subject Minister. Dr Haritha Aluthge, the Assistant Secretary to the GMOA said the Health Ministry had procured a certain sub-standard pill for Rs 64, while a better pill is priced for 64 cents in the market. He added that they revealed what Rajitha Senaratne and his henchmen were doing by bringing expensive tablets, however, none of the complaints was examined. He said the GMOA provided ample evidence for legal action to be instituted against Rajitha Senaratne under the Public Property Act, Bribery Act and the Penal Act.
