Colombo (News 1st) Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa arrived at the Magazine Prison in Colombo today to visit former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and to look into his health. Speaking to the media he noted that they would do everything in their power, lawful and within the constitution to get Patali Champika Ranawaka out of jail.
MP Vijith Vijithamuni Soysa noted that what saddens them is that the faith placed by 6.9 million people has been undermined. He added that there is no point in digging up old trash and if that's how the government is going to work they will have to act like crows. He stressed that people have more expectations in leaders than this.
Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka also visited MP Patali Champika Ranawaka.
"I went to visit former minister Patali Champika Ranawaka today. It is very clear that because of the difference of political allegiances and ideologies they are taking revenge from him using this motor accident. I spoke with him. The accident happened when the vehicle the former minister was traveling turned onto a road from the main road and collided with a 1000cc motorbike which is not allowed on the roads of Sri Lanka. Did 6.9 million people vote to put Patali Champika Ranawaka in prison, or did they vote for him to solve their problems."
