Earthslips disrupt train and vehicular travel

Colombo (News 1st) - Train Travel along the upcountry railway line has been hampered due to earth slips between Diyathalawa and Bandarawela. Railways General Manager Dilantha Fernando noted that the earth slips occurred this morning and as a result train travel has been restricted from Fort to Diyathalawa. Meanwhile, earth slips along the Matalae - Kurunegala road have also hampered vehicular traffic along the route. The Matale District DMC notes that steps are being taken to remove the fallen debris from the road.
