Dengue spreading rapidly in 5 areas - Ministry of health

Colombo (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health has identified the areas of Wattala, Negambo, Gothatuwa, Kolonnawa and Kopai as areas that are seeing a rapid spread of dengue. Dr. Aruna Jayasekara of the Ministry of Health notes that operations have been launched to eradicate dengue mosquitoes and mosquito breeding grounds in all areas which are witnessing a spike in the number of dengue cases. Jayasekara added that over 90,000 dengue cases have been reported so far this year while the virus has claimed the lives of 90 people this year.
