COLOMBO(News 1st) - The National Water Supply and Drainage Board stated that several areas of the Gampaha district will experience a water cut due to the rupturing of a water pipeline in Kadawatha.
The Water Board added that the rupture was caused due to development work on the Kadawatha Outer Circular road by the Road Development Authority.
Due to this incident the water supply to the Katunayake, Seeduwa, Ja Ela, Wattala, Mabola, Welisara, Kerawalapitiya, Dikowita, Matagoda, Bopitiya Uswatakeiyawa, Ragama, Walpola, Batuwatta, Bulugahagoda, Horape, Prison lane, Kurukulawa, Jayasrigama, Polgahahena and Diyagama Lama Nagaraya areas, has been disrupted.
The Water Board went on to note that steps have already been taken to rectify the situation and they added that they would inform the residents how long it would take to restore the water supply as soon as possible.
