New Chooda Manikya of Ruwanweli Maha Saya unveiled today

COLOMBO(News 1st) - The Chooda Manikya with a golden base placed on Ruwan Weli Maha Saya was unveiled today(November 26). The process to place Chooda Manikya on the stupa was initiated last evening(November 25). The Chooda Manikya which was designed by an Austrian company using a rare crystal was placed by the most venerable Maha Nayaka theros of the three sects. The total weight of the Chooda Manikya with the golden base exceeds 60kg. The base which was designed using 28kg of pure gold and 5320 blue and red gems is 3 feet in height.
