Colombo (News 1st): Water levels of Kelani and Attanagalu-oya have risen due to the incessant rains. Disaster Management Centre said a minor flood situation has been reported in the Nagalam Veediya and Dunamale area. The DMC requests residents living in these and surrounding areas to be vigilant.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern province. The Department of Meteorology said several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara, and Anuradhapura districts.
Fairly heavy rainfall of about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Uva province and in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts. Fairly strong gusty winds of up to 50 kmph can occur in the Northern province.
