Colombo (News 1st): Another carcass of an elephant has been discovered from Hiuriwaduna, Habara. The carcass was found after the Wildlife Department conducted a search operation. The carcasses of four wild elephants were discovered yesterday (September 27) from Digampathaha, Habarana. Officials suspect the elephants may have died of poisoning. The carcasses were located from four separate locations inside a Forest Reservation in Habarana. The Department of Wildlife said an investigation into the cause of death of the Elephants will be launched. It should be noted that wild elephants died during previous instances due to the garbage dumped in the Digampathana Reserve, 5km away from the location.
