Colombo (News1st) - The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Working Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting today (26 August).
General Secretary of UPFA, MP Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the meeting is expected to primarily focus on reaching a consensus over discussions with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna. According to MP Amaraweera discussions with the SLPP have been scheduled for tomorrow (27 August).
He noted that a team comprising of Basil Rajapaksa, Dallas Alahaperuma and G.L. Pieris will represent the SLPP during the first round of discussions tomorrow. Furthermore, MP Amaraweera stated that they intend to hold discussions with SLPP Presidential Candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
