Hydropower generation increases to 25%

Colombo (News 1st): The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy states that with the rains, hydropower generation has increased to 25%. Ministry spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena noted that as a result the electricity crisis could be alleviated to some extent.
He added that the water levels of the hydroelectric reservoirs are also on the rise.
