Arrested son of NTJ leader to be interrogated

Colombo (News 1st) - Procedures are underway to have the son of Naufer Moulavi, (a prominent leader of National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ)) detained, followed by custodial interrogation. The police stated that the suspect will be handed over to respective departments for further investigations following the upcoming court session on Monday (August 19). The above-mentioned suspect, Mohammed Naufer Abdullah was found to have undergone weapons training in Nuwara-Eliya. The Police mentioned that the suspect has been named Abu Hasam by the NTJ. The 16-year-old suspect was taken into police custody yesterday in Ampara, based on a tip-off received by the State Intelligence Services.
