Kurunegala mayor Thushara Vitharana remanded until September 17th

Colombo (News 1st):  Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Sanjeewa Vitharana was remanded until the 17th of August after appearing at the Kurunegala High Court today (August 9). A case was filed against him at the Kurunegala High Court for intimidating a person with a weapon, looting money and abduction of an individual. However, he failed to appear before the court at previous hearings as he was overseas. The judge at the time issued a warrant for his arrest. Accordingly, he appeared at court today through an attorney.
