President awards honorary ranks to a Retired Admiral and Retired Air Chief Marshal

Colombo (News 1st): President Maithripala Sirisena awarded the honorary rank of Admiral of the Fleet to Retired Admiral Wasantha Kumar Jayadewa Karannagoda, the former commander of the Sri Lanka Navy for outstanding gallantry, meritorious performance and distinguished service to the nation during the humanitarian operation and the defeat of terrorism in Sri Lanka. In addition, the President awarded the honorary rank of Marshal of the Air Force to Retired Air Chief Marshal Roshan Goonetileke, the former commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force for outstanding gallantry, meritorious performance and distinguished service to the nation during the humanitarian operation and the defeat of terrorism in Sri Lanka.
