Garbage scam : Team of customs officers to expedite investigations

Colombo(News1st) - A team of customs officers has been appointed to expedite the investigations into the consignment of containers carrying waste material that had been imported into the country from the United Kingdom. Customs Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne said that the intention was to expedite investigations and re-export the containers. The containers have caused an extremely foul odor to spread throughout the harbor, he added.
