Colombo (New1st) - The Joint Postal Trade Union Alliance notes that they will continue their trade union action as discussions with the Minister of Posts proved to be a failure.
Convenor of the alliance, Chinthaka Bandara noted that they were not able to reach a final decision during discussions held on Wednesday (July 17) with the subject minister.
According to postmaster general Ranjith Ariyaratne, the postal trade union action has caused a backlog of over 135,000 letters at the central mail exchange. Among the backlog are 35,000 register post letters.
