Elephant rescued in Horowpathana

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  Wildlife officials rescued an elephant after it fell into an agricultural well in Puliyankadawala, Horowpathana. The elephant which wandered from the Horowpathana forest reserve had fallen into the agricultural well last evening. The elephant was rescued with assistance from the locals and the rescue attempt lasted for over 3 hours. News 1st correspondent noted that the elephant which was approximately 20 years old was released to the Horowpathana forest reserve.
