Two dies in islandwide accidents

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  A motorcyclist died in an accident that occurred in Bellapitiya Junction, Horana. The accident occurred when a motorbike which was travelling from Horana to Bulathsinhala collided with a lorry near the Bellapitiya junction. The deceased is a 26-year-old resident of Balangoda. The lorry driver has been arrested by the police. Meanwhile, a person died in a motor accident in Kidelpitiya junction, Bandaragama last night. The person died while attempting to cross the road. The deceased is a 79-year-old resident of Kidelpitiya. A woman bystander near the accident scene also sustained injuries as the motorbike also hit. Both motorcyclist and the woman are receiving treatment at the Colombo General Hospital. Further investigations are underway.
