President appoints acting IGP

COLOMBO (News 1st) - According to a release issued by the President's media unit a number of new appointments have been made by the President. The President appointed Senior DIG C.D. Wickramaratne as the acting IGP today. Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya has been appointed as the new Chief justice. He was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena this morning. Solicitor General, Attorney-at-Law Dappula de Livera has been appointed as the acting Attorney General. Additional Auditor General Chulantha Wickramaratne was appointed as the new Auditor General. The release issued by the President's media unit also noted that former IGP N.K. Illangakoon has been appointed as an advisor to the Ministry of Defence.
