12 Senior Police officers transferred with immediate effect - NPC

Colombo (News 1st): The National Police Commission decided to transfer 12 Senior Police Officers including 02 Senior DIGs with immediate effect. The National Police Commission said the decision took in to account the threats to national security and unsafe environment which arose and could arise following the Easter Sunday Terror attacks. Among the transferred are 04 DIGs, 02 SSPs and 04 SPs.

• Deputy DIG in-charge of the North Western and North Central Provinces, J.Abeygunawardana, has been transferred to the position of DIG in charge of the Western Province
• DIG in-charge of Field forces and Motor Traffic and the Western Province Nanda Munasinghe has been transferred as the DIG in-charge of the North Western and North Central Provinces.
• DIG L.S. Pathinayake who was in charge of the Colombo division has been transferred to the Diversion Division, DIG Priyantha Weerasuriya who was in charge of the Diversion division has been transferred to the Colombo division.
• Deshabandu Tennakoon who was in charge of the Western Province North Division has been transferred as the DIG in charge of the Puttalam DIvision.
• V.P.C.A. Siriwardena who was in charge of the Puttalam Division has been transferred as the DIG in charge of the Western Province North Division.
• DIG in charge of the Trincomalee K. Kadupitiya has been transferred to the Negombo division. DIG Chandana Athukorale has been transferred as the DIG of the Trincomalee division.
• DIG L.M.S. Bandara who was in charge of the Colombo North Division has been transferred to the Seethawaka Division.
• DIG A.M.U Chandana was transferred to the Colombo North Division.
• The DIG in charge of the Colombo Central Division J.A.U.P. Jayasinghe was transferred to the Elpitiya Division.
• DIG T.G.N.W.D. Thalduuwa who was in charge of the Elpitiya division, has been transferred to the Colombo Central Division.
