Parliament to debate Easter explosions

Colombo (News 1st): A party leaders meeting was convened in parliament today (April 22). The meeting was chaired by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. Following the meeting, MP Mahinda Amaraweera expressing his views noted that the Inspector General of Police attended the meeting and presented facts about the situation of the country. He noted that a decision was made to convene parliament tomorrow and the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition will make their statements. The MP noted that a debate will be held in parliament the day after tomorrow (April 25). When questioned if the President returned to the country, he noted that he arrived last night itself. The parliamentarian noted that there is nothing to blame anyone and only those who detonated the bombs should be blamed. He added that there is no need to blame someone else and protect ourselves. MP Amaraweera went onto note that they mostly spoke about not letting these things occur again and a program is being implemented to give severe punishment to those who are behind these attacks.
