Religious leaders gather to fight drugs

COLOMBO (News 1st) -  A media conference demanding to carry out operations regularly to curb narcotics substances was held in Colombo yesterday (March 19). A multi-religious walk and a rally are to be held on March 31st. The media briefing was attended by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith and a number of other religious dignitaries. His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo noted that drug menace would not only affect a group and it would affect the whole community. The Cardinal added that it was necessary to keep the existing enthusiasm going until the drug menace is purged completely. He finally added that flaws in some laws should be amended in order to strengthen the war on drugs.
