Presidential Commission accepts complaints till 19th

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Accepting complaints to the Presidential Commission appointed to probe bribery and corruption in state institutions over the past four years, has been extended again until March 19th. A senior official attached to the commission noted that this decision was taken due to the continuous increase in the number of complaints. The commission stated that so far they have reeived 742 complaints. The Presidential Commission added that out of the total complaints, 300 of them were complaints on irregularities which had taken place at state institutions and 18 complaints have been selected for initial investigations and have been handed over to the Special Unit of the Police. The complaints received on a financial misappropriation which allegedly happened during the tender process in providing tablets to school children in 2017, a massive financial fraud which allegedly occurred at the Sri Lanka Football Federation and several other key complaints will be taken up during the initial investigation. Complaints are accepted at Secretary, Presidential Commission appointed to probe bribery and corruption, Room No. 210, Block 02, 2nd Floor, BMICH, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7. Written complaints are accepted in Sinhala, Tamil and English. Verbal complaints are accepted via 0112 66 53 82.
