Lotus Road temporarily closed

Colombo (News 1st): The Lotus Road in Colombo has been temporarily closed from the Ceramic Junction to the NSA roundabout as a result of a protest by university students. Heavy traffic was reported in the areas surrounding Fort, Colombo as a result of this protest march. Police have requested motorists to use alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience. The protest is being staged by the Inter-University Students Federation citing a number of issues including the decision taken to remand 12 students from the Wayamba University.
